Finsbury Park mosque attacker Darren Osborne slashed with ‘shank’ knife in prison ‘revenge’ attack
A TERRORIST who ploughed his van into worshippers outside a mosque has been slashed in a jail “revenge” attack.
Darren Osborne, 53, who killed a man and injured 12 more in the June 2017 horror, was ambushed by an inmate with a “shank” knife.
A Muslim lag is thought to be behind the assault — at least the third on Osborne during his time behind bars.
The far-Right yob was jailed for a minimum 43 years for his van outrage outside Finsbury Park Mosque, North London.
A source said the latest attack at HMP Frankland in County Durham badly scarred the dad of four.
They added: “Osborne has been walking around with a target on his back as there are a few Muslim gangs in the prison.
“Someone was bound to get to him and this bloke did, with a home-made knife, while others kept watch.
“He cut him from forehead to chin. There was blood everywhere.
“He tried to gouge an eye out and strangle him, but guards stopped him.
“Osborne needed stitches. He’s lucky not to have been more badly hurt.
“He was back from hospital fairly quickly and is being kept isolated for his own protection.
“The attacker was banged into segregation.”
Osborne was stabbed in the forehead at Full Sutton jail near York in 2020.
A year earlier, boiling water was thrown in his face in Wakefield Prison, West Yorkshire.
The Prison Service confirmed a lag-on-lag attack at Frankland, with “minor injuries” suffered.
Police are investigating.
