Not really surfable this morning
Hello Friends,
Somewhat overcast with 7-11 kts of SSW wind and no sign of waves made for a rather dull start to Sunday along the beaches. Swell was 1.5 metres at 8 seconds out at sea, but it was coming from the SSW, so it’s headed away from us. From the look of this morning’s swell models the periods are going to be very short (5-7 seconds) through to next weekend, so that means weak and tiny to near flat is the most likely prospect.
Ah, well. It’ll come good eventually, so have yourself a great Sunday everyone!
Weather Situation
Northerly winds prevail about northern parts of the coast while winds about central and southern parts are moderate to fresh southerly after the passage of a trough overnight. Southerly winds will weaken and turn northeasterly from Sunday afternoon as a ridge of high pressure develops over the region. Another southeasterly change is forecast to arrive on Tuesday as a cold front passes to the south and strong high pressure system moves to the southern Tasman Sea.
