Mac McClung had the classiest answer about potentially defending his Dunk Contest throne
There’s living in the moment and also appreciating what might come in the future. Mac McClung, a G-League player on a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, is the perfect example.
After absolutely dazzling during Saturday’s Slam Dunk contest (seriously, check out these cool photos of some of his best dunks and moments), the 24-year-old McClung was understandably also the star during post-contest festivities.
When McClung was asked about his potential future prospects in the event, he was confident, but he seemed to keep it humble. This is a young man clearly not afraid of any coming challengers, who apparently only wants a chance to compete:
asked Mac if he would like to challenge anyone specifically to next year’s dunk contest if he is invited back.

What a perfect response, honestly. McClung could’ve put anyone on the spot. He could’ve mentioned LeBron James or even Zion Williamson. Instead, should McClung get the invitation again next year, it seems he just wants to have fun in an event specifically designed for that.
Generally, you can’t go wrong when you have such a mentality.
