D.K. Metcalf shared the NFL was making him take a drug test and fans thought it was for the silliest reasons
D.K. Metcalf is not only one of the NFL’s best receivers, he’s also one of pro football’s premier athletes.
For anyone playing in the league, taking a random Performance-Enhancing Substance drug test is par for the course. Per the NFL’s policy, the league reserves the right to test players randomly once a year. So Metcalf sharing that he would take a PES test this coming week on his Instagram story isn’t really shocking news.
However, for fans closely watching the superstar receiver’s exploits — such as a recent (and probably edited) video where the Seattle Seahawks’ dynamo skies unbelievably for a pass and an NBA Celebrity Game MVP award this weekend — the timing of Metcalf’s announcement seemed too convenient.

Again, this is sometimes just part of the routine process for Metcalf and all players in the NFL. That didn’t stop folks from taking to speculation.
