Talent spotter claims reported Spurs target has shades of Arjen Robben
Talent spotter Lee Scott has said that Chilean starlet, Dario Osorio, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has shades of Arjen Robben about him.
Osorio has only played 30 games in the Chilean top flight since breaking into Universidad de Chile’s starting eleven but his performances have already caught the attention of several European clubs.
Las Ultimas Noticias (26/01/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) reported last month that Aston Villa and Tottenham were battling it out for the 19-year-old, with the report adding that Wolves’ efforts to snap up the attacker were knocked back last summer.
Spurs’ interest in Osorio was also backed up by TuttoMercatoWeb, who claimed on January 29 that Antonio Conte’s men were battling AC Milan for the winger’s signature.
Universidad de Chile sporting director Manuel Mayo confirmed to La Tercera (01/02/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) at the start of this month that there has already been plenty of interest from Europe in the teenager.
Scott, who currently works as a scout for Spanish outfit Velez CF, has now given a rave review of the forward.
He said on The Scouted Football Podcast about Osorio: “He’s one who cuts inside, likes to get shots off at goal, likes to attack.
“When you watch him play, there are elements of Arjen Robben in that, when he gets the ball on the right-hand side, you know where he’s going.
“He just wants to come inside and look to get shots away. One of his goals, domestically, was a stunning strike when it cut in on his left boot from far out.
“He managed to hit the top corner with a swerving, dipping shot. That alone will have caught the eye.”

Since arriving at Tottenham, Paratici has not signed any player directly from South American football but the Italian did that several times at Juventus, including in the case of Rodrgio Bentancur.
So, it will be interesting to see whether Spurs substantiate their interest in Osorio with an offer.
