I spent £90 on Molly-Mae’s curling tong but was so disappointed with the results – I feel like she’s played us all
SHE decided to treat herself by splashing out on Molly-Mae Hague’s £90 curling tong.
But Nicky was left more than a little disappointed with the results of using the curler, and took to TikTok to weigh in.
“Biggest hair curling fail ever!” she wrote over her video.
“Molly-Mae why you play us like da?”
“Biggest disappointment @mollymaehague,” she added in the video caption.
In the comments section of the video, a few people suggested the reason the curls weren’t holding is because you’re meant to “pin them after”.
“In her tutorial video she says to leave them clipped on the top of your head,” one wrote.
“You’re not even using them properly that’s why,” another added.
“Let it heat up, curl down the way, don’t over lap hair, don’t need to pin curl. They’re really good.”
“Okay theres only one way of wrapping hair around a curling barrel sis,” Nicky replied.
And she addressed the comments in another video on her TikTok page, as she said: “The last time I used a curler I actually had my hair pinned up and I’ve actually had my hair pinned with the clips twice now, so I’m just going to put it out there – if the curling wand was any good it’s gonna work whether the clips or in or if they’re out in my opinion.
“And for someone who has naturally curly hair, curlers really tend to work on my hair a lot.
“I always get that curl effect. But yeah, I’ve literally stopped using the curler now – it’s all tucked back into the box.
“I won’t be using it again, I just think it’s a waste of space to be honest because of the barrel.
“It’s so tiring. I thought I’d be using it for waves and s**t – that’s what I tended to use it for now I know I don’t get the curl from it.
“But it’s just too tiring to wave.
“The barrel itself is just too heavy and big.”
She went to reveal her favourite curling tong – a Christina Aguilera one she got from Lidl “years ago”.
“This is my hair now fully curled from that curler, and this is the perfect curl for me,” she said.
“When I use this curling wand, I don’t even have to comb out my hair or anything.
“So I just want to get it out there. Whether something is expensive or affordable don’t mean s**t.
“If something has a better label in, don’t mean s**t.
“I just think it’s the worst case of a curling wand that I’ve ever used.
“If I hadn’t have bought it, I really would bin it right now. But as for using the clips, I have done, but still not good, so…”
