Moscow and Beijing have agreed on “military-technical” cooperation in response to NATO’s blatant aggression in the region. This was stated by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to China Igor Morgulov in an interview with the CGTN television company.
Morgulov believes that the new US and NATO military alliances in the Asia-Pacific region are undermining the security architecture. It claims that one of the blocks has already been created.
“One of them (military blocs) has already created the AUCUS military technology bloc, which includes the United States, Great Britain and Australia,” he notes.
The ambassador claims that the new alliance will only bring new problems and undermine the security and stability of the region. He believes that this will not bring anything good to the region, nor will it be possible to justify NATO’s presence.
“Therefore, I do not see any positive aspects from the fact that NATO may appear in the Asia-Pacific region,” the politician emphasizes.
He also believes that the Russian Federation and China should make every effort so that the current security structure of the region does not collapse. Morgulov notes that it is necessary to explain to regional players the challenges and threats that NATO will provide with its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
“For those who do not understand, we will respond by building up military and military-technical cooperation with like-minded people in the region, including China. We will continue to build up our defense capabilities in order to quickly respond to the threats that NATO can create in this region of the world,” Morgulov summed up.
