Towie legend signs up for Celeb Cooking School after huge weight loss
JAMES Argent is making his TV comeback on Celeb Cooking School.
The former Towie star will join a host of stars trying to make waves in the kitchen.
Arg, 35, who has lost 13 stone in weight after gastric surgery in 2021, will start filming this week.
A source said: “Arg is a keen cook and jumped at the chance to take part in the show.
“Because of his weight loss surgery, Arg is really in tune with healthy eating and what he puts into his body but he is not the best cook.
“He signed up last month and will start filming with his co-stars this week.
“Arg hopes he can learn some proper skills in the kitchen.”
Katie Price had been due to take part in the series but pulled out last week – leaving producers high and dry.
Last year the first series of the show proved to be a hit, with celebs including Kerry Katona and Shaun Ryder taking part.
The show hosted by Melvin Odoom and starring chef Giorgio Locatelli helps hopeless celebs get to grips with cookery.
Last month Arg revealed he had undergone surgery to remove excess skin after his weight loss.
He explained: “I am confident in the bedroom now… regardless of whether it’s romantically or by a beach or in clothes, across the board I am more confident now in all of those areas.
“Whether you’re a man or woman or have a dream body from the outside, everyone has certain parts of their body they wish they could improve, or they don’t like no matter who you are.
“I am body confident now. Don’t get me wrong I still want to improve and get into the gym and tone up more, but I’ll absolutely be confident when summer rolls around.”
It was the final stage in his transformation journey which included surgery, a clean diet and hundreds of hours in the gym after he ballooned to 27 stone.
Arg is being supported in his journey by his girlfriend Stella Turian, 19, who has been by his side every step of the way.
A pal said of their romance: “Things have moved really quickly between them. At first James was worried about what people might think about the 15-year age gap.
“But no-one cares, and neither do James or Stella now. They’re just looking forward to a future together.”
