In-N-Out debuts a new catering truck with mini-fries and mini-Double-Doubles on the menu

Lynsi Snyder announced the debut of a new catering truck that serves fries.
  • In-N-Out Burger began catering events such as weddings and birthday parties in 1974.
  • But the company's 10 Cookout Trucks don't serve french fries. They serve chips.
  • Owner Lynsi Snyder said mini-fries are on the menu of a new catering truck designed for kid events.

In-N-Out's famed "Cookout Trucks" have served burgers, beverages, and chips at church events, weddings, and birthdays since 1974.

One menu item, however, has eluded fans attending these burger parties – french fries.

But as of this month, that changes. In-N-Out is now serving fries for catered events from a new cookout truck named after chain co-founder Esther Snyder.

"Exciting news to share!" In-N-Out owner and president Lynsi Snyder recently wrote on her Instagram page. "In memory of my precious Grams, we welcome our newest addition, the Esther Snyder Cookout Truck that serves In-N-Out's ONLY mini Double-Doubles, mini burgers, and yes, mini fries!"

The menu also features fountain drinks.

The new catering truck, which requires about 85 feet of parking space, is reserved for children and youth events, the Southern California chain states on its website.

A portion of the proceeds will support the chain's In-N-Out Burger Foundation, which assists children who have been victims of child abuse.

"So, let's get that truck on the road and help give children an abuse-free childhood and a future," Snyder wrote to her nearly 40,000 Instagram followers a few days ago.

The Esther Snyder Cookout Truck website does not provide any cost details for services. Catering costs for the regular Cookout Truck depend on the number and type of burgers sold at the event. A standard Double-Double costs $6.80 plus tax, for example, while a grilled cheese sandwich is $4.70 plus tax, according to the online menu. To rent the regular Cookout Truck, customers must spend $2,000 minimum.

In-N-Out's new catering vehicle, The Esther Snyder Cookout Truck, serves mini-versions of burgers and fries. It even sells a mini-Double-Double. Fries are not on the regular Cookout Truck's menu.

In-N-Out held its first cookout at Badillo School in Covina, California, in 1974. Today, the chain operates more than 10 cookout trucks staffed by 125 employees.

Since becoming In-N-Out's president in 2010, Lynsi Snyder has expanded In-N-Out's footprint to three new states – Texas, Oregon, and Colorado. Beyond expansion, the brand has changed very little under her watch. In 2014, she had a replica built of In-N-Out's original 1948 burger stand. In 2018, she added hot cocoa to the menu, and throughout the years, she's added three new Bible verses to In-N-Out products.
