Oddsmakers are prepared for Everything Everywhere All At Once to dominate the Oscars

The 2022 phenomenon that is Everything Everywhere All At Once has been on an absolute tear this award season.

Already it’s picked up a BAFTA (best editing), five Critics’ Choice Awards (picture, editing, original screenplay, director, supporting actor), two Golden Globes (actress, supporting actor) and four SAG awards (outstanding performance by a cast, outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role, outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role, outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role).

As the calendar approaches the 95th Academy Awards this Sunday, March 12, all eyes are on the film to see if it can become the fifth title to reach 10+ wins (Ben-Hur, Titanic, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and the 1961 West Side Story).

Oddsmakers are already expecting EEAAO to come away as the big winners on Sunday, and if they’re correct, it shouldn’t even be that close of a contest.

Best Picture

Yes, you are reading that correctly. Everything Everywhere All At Once is now -1200 (bet $1200 to win $100) to win Best Picture. Which is to say any of the other nine nominees earning the award instead would be a massive upset — and potentially a huge coup for bettors on the underdogs.

Best Director

The Daniels Kwan and Scheinert also appear to have this category locked up in a field that features a titan in Steven Spielberg and a cult-favorite in Martin McDonagh.

Best Actress

Michelle Yeoh is having a long overdue moment. No question about that. After her SAG Awards win — and her truly perfect acceptance speech —that moment may have a grand conclusion Sunday. She’s a slight favorite over Cate Blanchett, who already has two Oscars on her resume.

Best Supporting Actress

Jamie Lee Curtis had never even been nominated for an Oscar before EEAAO. Now she’s the co-favorite alongside Angela Bassett, who is also looking for her first win in her second nomination.

Best Supporting Actor

There was a time not too long ago when Ke Huy Quan thought his days in Hollywood were done for good. Oh, how wrong he was. The former child star is a massive favorite to win Best Supporting Actor — a nod he’s already earned from the SAG Awards and Golden Globes.

Additionally, Everything Everywhere All At Once is up for Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Costume Design and Best Supporting Actress (for Stephanie Hsu).
