Truck driver charged in connection with West Hartford crash involving CT Transit bus
A tractor-trailer driver was charged in connection with a collision in West Hartford involving a CT Transit bus that left one person injured last week, police said.
In the early morning hours on March 1, the West Hartford Police Department responded to a crash involving a CT transit bus and a truck at the intersection of Albany Avenue and Trout Brook Drive. Due to the nature of the collision, the bus driver was trapped in the vehicle, police said.
The driver, a 54-year-old East Hartford man, was extricated from the bus by the West Hartford Fire Department and taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. No one in the tractor-trailer reported any injuries.
An investigation determined that the tractor-trailer driver, identified as a 58-year-old man from Fresno, California, was at fault. He was charged with one count of failure to obey a traffic control signal.
