‘They might sack me’ – Antonio Conte hints at possible Spurs exit after CL defeat
Antonio Conte has admitted that Tottenham could sack him as their head coach before the end of the season if they are disappointed with his performance in the dugout.
The Italian returned to his touchline duties this week for the Champions League defeat to AC Milan after missing a number of games while he recovered from gallbladder surgery.
While Cristian Stellini boasted an enviable record in his initial stint as Spurs’ temporary boss, defeating Man City, West Ham, and Chelsea at home, these results were followed by an FA Cup exit at the hands of Championship Sheffield United and defeat to Wolves in the Premier League.
Along with the 1-0 defeat to AC Milan across two legs in the Champions League, this leaves Spurs with another trophyless season, and even top four is still far from secure.
When asked about his future with the Lilywhites, Conte admitted they would talk at the end of the season, while adding that he may not even make it that far if Spurs choose to sack him.
He said (Prime – via Fabrizio Romano): “I’m under contract at Tottenham, then we will decide at the end of the season with the club.
“My contract expires in June, we will see— they might sack me even before the end of the season, who knows, maybe they are disappointed.”

Spurs Web Opinion:
If Tottenham and Conte both know they are parting ways at the end of the season, no matter what, then they may as well sack him now, to be honest.
Give the new manager some extra time to work with the squad ahead of next season, whether that be a Pochettino return or someone else.
