EastEnders legend Barry actor Shaun Williamson shares rare snap of his wife Adele as he wishes her a happy birthday
EASTENDERS legend Shaun William has posed in a new snap with his rarely-seen wife, while wishing her a happy birthday.
Shaun is known for his iconic role as Barry on the hit BBC soap, but away from the screens he tends to keep his private life more under wraps.
But in a recent photoshoot, Shaun, 57, penned: “Happy birthday baby,” while sharing a sweet photo of himself and his wife Adele.
The pair looked in good spirts for the picture, and Barry could be seen with a beer while his wife opted for a cocktail.
Shaun and his wife have been married since 2018 but have been tweeting each other since 2014, which is when their romance really blossomed.
He proposed to her in February 2017 and announced the news online by writing: “Today I asked my Baby girl to be my Wife and she said….. YES!!!!!”
Since then Adele has been posting regular snaps of her and Shaun together on social media.
Shaun had previously been married to Melanie Jane Sacre, who he wed in 1997, and they secretly divorced after having two children.
Shaun’s biggest role was on EastEnders, which he starred in between 1994 and 2004.
He was a hugely popular character, who was known for being a bit of a ‘buffoon’.
Shaun’s time on the show ended when his character was killed off – after he was pushed off a cliff by Janine Butcher, played by Charlie Brooks.
He is also a singer, occasional presenter and all-round media personality.
As well as playing the hapless Barry Evans on the BBC one soap, Barry is known for playing a satirical version of himself on Extras alongside Ricky Gervais.
The actor also appeared in panto on numerous occasions – including Cinderella, Robin Hood and Aladdin.
He has had bit parts on Inspector Morse, The Bill and Plebs, to name a few.
In early 2017 he appeared in Casualty and delighted fans when he was fired from a cannon as part of his storyline.
