Get to Know Kevin Iannucci, Johnny in 'Champions' Movie, with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)
The new movie Champions hits theaters this weekend and we caught up with actor Kevin Iannucci to learn more about him!
Kevin, who is one of Hollywood’s rising stars with Down Syndrome, plays the role of Johnny in the new film. Champions, starring Woody Harrelson, centers around a former minor-league basketball coach who receives a court order to guide a team of players with intellectual disabilities.
You might recognize Kevin from his work in films like The Best of Enemies and Embattled.

- During the first few years of my life, while I was still learning to talk, I communicated with sign language.
- I always loved watching TV and movies growing up, but I didn’t see many characters like myself. I wanted to see all kinds of people represented, because there are all types of people in real life, so I started to re-write my own versions of the scripts for my favorite shows and movies to include myself as a character too!
- I was the manager of my high school varsity baseball team.
- I have a DVD collection of all my favorite movies and TV shows.
- I have a friend who was drafted in the first round by the Miami Marlins.
