SCHOOLS across the UK are closed again today due to heavy snow and freezing temperatures.
Thousands of pupils will miss class while Met Office yellow and amber weather warnings are in force.
A separate amber alert covers Wales and the West Midlands and advises of similar “significant disruption”.
Severe snowstorms and travel disruption will plague the UK again today and tomorrow, forecasters have warned.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for “strong winds bringing blizzard conditions” and up to 16 inches of snow to the area stretching from Stoke-on-Trent to Durham.
A separate amber alert covers Wales and the West Midlands and advises of similar “significant disruption”.
The alerts, which urge anyone travelling today to take extra care due to snow and ice, covered almost every inch of the UK yesterday.
Three further warnings for the same wintry conditions carry over into today for central England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Those with children should check with individual schools or their local council website to confirm any closures.
