Arkansas Begins SEC Play vs. Texas A&M

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 7 Arkansas opens Southeastern Conference play against Texas A&M on March 10-12 at Bogle Park.

The Razorbacks begin league play at Bogle Park for the first time since the 2014 season when Arkansas took on No. 2 Tennessee in a three-game set (March 14-15, 2014).

The Razorbacks and Aggies kick off the series at 6 p.m. Friday on SEC Network+ (Josh Haley and Sydney Parr Lee). Saturday’s 7 p.m. contest will air on SEC Network with Danielle Lawrie and Chuckie Kempf on the call. The series wraps up at 1 p.m. Sunday on SEC Network+ (Josh Haley and Sydney Parr Lee).

Last Time Out

The Razorbacks concluded the Wooo Pig Classic with a 6-0 record against Iowa State, North Texas and Texas A&M-CC. The Razorbacks outhit opponents at a 50-10 clip. Arkansas outscored opposition 51-7, including three run-rule victories. Arkansas shut out Iowa State 4-0 on Thursday before downing TAMU-CC and North Texas 11-0 (5) and 6-2 in Friday’s doubleheader. Arkansas swept Saturday’s doubleheader vs. Iowa State and TAMU-CC. The Hogs defeated Iowa State 7-4 and cruised to another lopsided 12-0 (5) victory in the nightcap vs. TAMU-CC. The Razorbacks dominated North Texas 11-1 (5) in Sunday’s finale. In their seventh game in five days, Arkansas was out-dueled by Central Arkansas, 2-1, Monday night.

SEC Opening Weekend at Bogle Park

The Razorbacks seek their 10th consecutive SEC series win as they clash withTexas A&M March 10-12 at Bogle Park. Arkansas won every conference series last season for the first time in program history. The Hogs are 38-10 in league games over the past two seasons.

This weekend is the first time Arkansas has opened SEC play at home since the 2014 season and the first of head coach Courtney Deifel’s tenure – Arkansas hosted No. 2 Tennessee for a three-game series March 14-15, 2014, at Bogle Park. To put things into perspective, Bogle’s outfield walls were green at that point. Here’s a list of Arkansas’ SEC opening series since then:

The Matchup

• It’ll be the second time Arkansas and Texas A&M have opened league play against each other. The Hogs and Aggies last teed off conference play vs. each another on March 15-17, 2013, in College Station. It was also the first Southeastern Conference meeting between the two.
• The Razorbacks are chasing their second straight series win against the Aggies. Last year, Arkansas secured a 2-1 series victory in College Station on May 6-8. After falling in extras in game one, Arkansas downed Texas A&M 7-3 and 9-5 in the final two games to secure their ninth straight SEC series win. Arkansas hasn’t dropped a league series since April 25, 2021, when No. 19 Missouri claimed a series victory.
• This weekend’s series will be the earliest Arkansas and Texas A&M have played each other in the SEC.
• Friday night will be the first meeting between Courtney Deifel and Texas A&M’s first-year head coach Trisha Ford.
