A CEO bought the 'Princess Diaries' mansion his daughter loved. See inside the San Francisco villa they're now selling for $8.9 million.

"Shut up!" A 100-year-old San Francisco mansion that appeared in "The Princess Diaries" is on the market for $8.9 million.

In the 2001 Disney movie, the 4,500-square-foot mansion was used as the set of the fictional Grove High School.

In real life, it can be found at 2601 Lyon Street in San Francisco.

Located in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood, the neoclassical revival-style home was the spot of some iconic scenes.

It's where Mia Thermopolis, played by Anne Hathaway, attends 10th grade.

It's also where her character is infamously bombarded by the press after it's leaked she's the heir to the throne of Genovia.

The seller, the former CEO of Just Desserts Michael Mendes, purchased the home in 2009.

He told the Wall Street Journal that his daughter, who was 7 at the time of the purchase, was a fan of the movie.

"It was a bit unfortunate because we were trying to negotiate a good price," Mendes said.

Upon entering the house, there's a foyer with stairs leading to the second floor. To the right is a family room and to the left is an office.

Up the stairs is a living room that is over 400 square feet with large windows overlooking the neighborhood.

There is also a dining room on this floor...

...as well as a galley-style kitchen and a small breakfast nook at the kitchen's far end.

The primary bedroom overlooks the San Francisco Bay. It's one of four bedrooms in the home.

The bedroom also has a 108-square-foot walk-in closet.

As if the bedroom space wasn't enough, the primary bathroom is over 200 square feet and overlooks the Presidio.

On the other side of the floor there is a 210-square-foot secondary bedroom with a double-door entrance from the hall.

Both the primary bedroom and this bedroom lead out to a balcony that overlooks San Francisco.

There are doors that open onto the balcony from the hallway as well.

A third bedroom on this floor is being used as a gym. It neighbors a full bathroom.

The home's rooftop terrace overlooks the hills of the City by the Bay.

Mendes told the Journal that one of the upgrades they made to the home over the years was adding a rooftop grilling station.

Like the rest of the house, the rooftop terrace has a golden feel as the sun sets over San Francisco.
