Eight people displaced following fire at Hartford apartment complex
Eight people were displaced following a fire at an apartment complex in Hartford early Sunday.
Firefighters were called to 320 Farmington Ave. in the Asylum Hill neighborhood shortly after midnight where they found a fire in the stairwell of the complex between the second and third floors, according to the Hartford Fire Department. The fire was first spotted by police and called in.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire, containing it to the area of origin.
No injuries were reported.
City officials determined two apartment units were uninhabitable following the fire. A total of eight people, including three adults and five children, were displaced.
The American Red Cross and the Hartford Fire Department Special Services Unit are assisting those who have been displaced.
The Hartford Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
