I started side hustle at 14 selling fake eyelashes at school – now I run successful brand, here’s secret to my success
AN ENTREPENEUR has said that more positive models are needed to push young people away crime.
Brianna Pusey, 20, from Huddersfield, believes the town’s youth are also crying out for constructive activities to do in their spare time.
Briana began her business career in secondary school selling fake eyelashes and facial skin care products.
Utilising that experience, Briana then kickstarted a business from her bedroom crafting homeware goods.
Briana told YorkshireLive: “I started off aged 14 in high school selling lashes and homemade face scrubs. Now I am on the road to success”, .
“I have always been a business-minded person and have always sold things. I have the mindset to be self-employed.
“I started it all on my own and paid for the website from my own pocket. It is now up and running.”
Brianna, who also works as a community activist, describes the importance of striving to succeed and not being seduced by crime.
She continued: “There’s more to life than getting involved in crime. I think people need to curb that path and realise they are better than that. I want to be positive.”
Brianna believes that younger people are lacking in positive role models and may also find themselves unable to find a positive outlet for their energy.
The entrepreneur argues the closure of sports and leisure facilities, including Deighton Sports Arena, will only hamper that pursuit.
Despite that set back, Brianna has urged those with time on their hands to try and find hobbies which could ultimately become careers.
She said: “I am talking to the youth. I am not that old and I have gone through it myself. I have seen it first-hand.
“My message is for people to find out what makes you happy and turn your hobby into something that you get paid for.”
