Huge pop superstar had to be rescued by his mum from one night stand
HE is a huge superstar with four No1s and one of the best-selling singles of the past decade in Someone You Loved.
But it turns out that Lewis Capaldi‘s mum Carol knows a little too much about someone he’s loved, as she had to pick him up from a one-night stand.
Yesterday he released the trailer for his upcoming Netflix documentary How I’m Feeling Now, which features a scene where his nurse mum spills the beans.
She says: “You’ve still got a lot of growing up to do.
“You need to phone your mother to come and pick you up from your one-night stand because you’re having a panic attack.”
Unsurprisingly, Lewis looks mortified about the admission.
But as well as showing his funny side, the documentary will also explore his battles with anxiety, which is addressed in his latest song.
In the track, out today and called How I’m Feeling Now, he sings: “Suppose I thought that by this moment I would have it figured out.
“But instead I tend to spend my days consumed by seeds of doubt.”
Then in the chorus, he belts out: “So here’s to my beautiful life which seems to leave me so unsatisfied. No sense of self but self-obsessed, I’m always trapped inside my f***ing head.”
Lewis later sings: “I try to tell myself my best days are the ones that lie ahead. But I’m always looking back at things I wish I’d never said. I’m a mess, yeah, but I’ll get there.”
Hopefully opening up like this will help him and others.
