Newcastle recently fell out of the top-four place in the Premier League table. A five-game winless streak did see the Magpies fall from third to sixth-place. But Newcastle will head to the Midlands with their heads up after a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend. Former Atlanta FC midfielder Miguel Almirón came off the bench to score the game-winning goal for the Magpies with 10 minutes remaining. The victory brought Newcastle back into fifth place.

A 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur helped Spurs retain a four-point cushion on the Magpies for a top-four position in the EPL table. In the loss, Forest was outplayed and scored their lone goal while already down by three. The loss dropped Nottingham down to 14th place, closer to a contentious relegation battle.
Adding insult to injury… was injury. Nottingham attackers Brennan Johnson (groin) and Chris Wood (thigh) both picked up knocks in the loss. Newcastle will be without midfielder Joelinton, who will serve the second of a two-game suspension.
