John Wick star Lance Reddick shared heartbreaking last post as he missed premiere days before his death at 60
LATE actor Lance Reddick shared a series of heartbreaking snaps of himself at home with his “spoiled” dogs just days before he was found dead.
Authorities found the John Wick actor dead at his home in Los Angeles on Friday morning.
A cause of death has yet to be determined, but sources told TMZ the actor appeared to have died of natural causes.
Just days before his sudden death, Reddick shared a touching video on Twitter that has accumulated nearly 20,000 likes.
The selfie video featured Reddick walking around his home with his dogs barking in the background.
In the snap, the actor sings in a soft tone, “And the beat goes on.”
Reddick included the hashtag #dogsoftwitter in his tweet.
Fans mourned the actor’s death after the news of his passing broke online.
“RIP we love you,” one fan said.
Another shared: “Life is too short this is shocking.”
Several fans simply replied on the thread, “Rip.”
Just 24 hours before his body was discovered in his Studio City home, Reddick shared a series of photos on Instagram featuring his dogs.
One of the flicks showed a smiling Reddick with four cheerful dogs around him, as he captioned it: “On screen and off, it’s no surprise I love spoiling my dogs.”
The caption of the post went on to mention The Hard Rock Cafe’s Jon Wick movie-themed dog clothing.
Another snap showed the actor sitting on his sofa with his head laid back as one of his dogs rested on his lap.
With a broken heart emoji, an Instagram user said: “Rest in Peace King.”
“Lance, you were a lovely and sweet person,” someone else said, adding: “Rest in Enlightenment.”
“Rest in Paradise,” another user said.
GLITTERING CAREER
Reddick was absent from Wednesday’s red-carpet premiere of John Wick 4 in New York City.
It’s unknown why he missed the event; however, before his sudden death, Reddick had been on a press tour for the upcoming fourth installment of the former mafia hitman portrayed by Keanu Reeves.
In a recent interview for Screen Rant, Reddick spoke with co-star Ian McShane to discuss his role as Charon in the film.
Reddick revealed the origin story of Winston and Charon’s friendship that he and McShane worked to develop over the years.
He was also scheduled to appear on the Kelly Clarkson show next week.
Reddick, who was born in Baltimore, earned a music degree from the University of Rochester as well as a Master’s in Fine Arts from Yale.
Before his role in John Wick as the concierge at the Continental Hotel, Reddick rose to stardom for playing Baltimore Police Department officer Cedrick Daniels on The Wire.
He played the straight-edge Baltimore cop in all five seasons of the HBO crime drama.
He also held recurring roles in a handful of other TV productions, such as Fringe, Bosch, Oz and Lost.
Reddick also appeared in the films Angel Has Fallen, Godzilla Vs. Kong and One Night in Miami, among others.
He is slated to appear in the upcoming projects White Men Can’t Jump and Shirley, which are scheduled to release later this year.
Reddick will also reprise his role as Charon in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina, which has no release date.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Day, and two children he shared with his ex-wife, Suzanne Louis.
