Police: Bolton man accused of using ‘revenge porn’ to harass woman

A Bolton man accused of using intimate photos of a woman to harass and stalk her turned himself in on an arrest warrant on Wednesday, according to the Manchester Police Department.

Brian Swearengin, 43, turned himself in on an arrest warrant that was issued for his alleged involvement in “revenge porn,” police said.

An investigation was launched in January 2023 after the victim told police Swearengin secretly recorded intimate encounters. According to police, the relationship reportedly ended in December 2022. In the weeks following the break-up, Swearengin used images from the recordings to allegedly stalk and harass the victim, police said.

Additionally, police alleged that Swearengin harassed the victim by telling others she was pregnant and was arrested for prostitution.

Swearengin is charged with voyeurism, disseminating voyeuristic material, unlawful dissemination of an intimate image, cruelty to persons and three counts of second-degree harassment, according to police.

He posted a $10,000 bond and appeared in court on Thursday, police said.

“Taking and sending intimate images of a person without their consent not only is a violation of privacy — it is a crime,” the Manchester police said in a release. “If this has happened to you or someone you know, please contact your local police department or area victim’s advocate for assistance.”
