Reports of suspicious vehicle at South Windsor elementary school lead to arrest
Reports of a suspicious vehicle at an elementary school in South Windsor led to a woman’s arrest on Tuesday morning, police said.
The South Windsor Police Department responded to Philip R. Smith Elementary School at 949 Avery St. just after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday for reports of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.
The vehicle was stopped on Pine Knob Drive at Avery Street. Police discovered that the driver, identified as 28-year-old woman from South Windsor, had a suspended license and an outstanding failure to appear arrest warrant.
The woman was taken into custody and charged with operating under suspension and second-degree failure to appear.
She was released on a $50,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in New Britain Superior Court on May 2.
