Man Utd legend backs Spurs star to be a ‘weapon’ in the next few months – Not Harry Kane
Park Ji-Sung has backed his compatriot Son Heung-min to have a strong finish to the 2022-23 season.
After he won the Premier League Golden Boot for the first time in his career last season, many would have expected the Son to kick on under Antonio Conte this campaign.
However, the 30-year-old has had a poor season by his own high standards, having found the back of the net just six times in the league so far in 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).
One can argue that his struggles in front of goal, in combination with Dejan Kulsuevski and Richarlison not hitting the expected heights, has been one of the main reasons that Tottenham have failed to live up to expectations, with the bulk of the goalscoring falling on Harry Kane’s shoulders.
Son is currently just one goal away from entering the Premier League 100 club and Park believes that the Tottenham man will achieve the landmark soon, backing him to return to his best in the final two months of the season.
The former Man Utd winger told TMW about Son: “It’s hard to win the Golden Boot in the Premier League, very difficult.
“Son is a special player but when the team doesn’t do well, even the individuals struggle.
“Then he got injured, recovered, then in the last matches he proved his importance. It just takes time.
“Just wait for him because in this final months of the season, he will be an extra weapon.”

One of the things I find infuriating about the pro-Conte section of Spurs fans is that they had no problem putting down the improvements of the likes of Davies and Dier last season to Conte.
Yet, they do not think the Italian bears any responsibility for a world-class player like Son having his worst season in a Tottenham shirt.
I have no doubt that the South Korean will be relieved when the 53-year-old is finally gone.
