A BBC presenter has broken down in tears reliving her stalking hell that left her ‘physically sick’.
The broadcaster’s weather presenter Alexis Green bravely spoke about her ordeal on BBC Breakfast.
She revealed she was harassed by a man who sent her over 100 messages – with many of them being explicit.
Alexis sat down with Sally Nugent to discuss the hell Timothy O’Brien put her through.
The 55-year-old admitted to harassing the meteorologist and was slapped with a 17-week jail sentence.
He has also been given a restraining order and must not contact Alexis.
But his actions have affected Alexis, who revealed she even contemplated quitting her job.
When asked by Sally if the experience has left her frightened to do certain things, she said it had.
“It has, I am scared to do certain things,” she told the 51-year-old.
“I don’t go for runs on my own now, I take the dog, the poor dog has to come too.
“I feel there is that protection in place but it’s not going to help me and it’s not going to help my personal feelings and my anxiety.”
Alexis became emotional as she revealed she “felt physically sick” and left “actually shaking presenting the weather” knowing her stalker would be watching her.
She was also left unable to sleep at night fearing he was watching her home and she withdrew from seeing family and friends.
Breaking down in tears, Alexis told Sally: “It’s been really hard and I just want to get on with my life and I don’t want him in it.”
But she has vowed to try and put the ordeal behind her and move on with her life.
“Do I need to feel this stress every day and do I need to feel sick presenting the weather? No, I don’t and hopefully, within time, things will get better.”
