I’m a gynecologist – you should reschedule if you’re on period but don’t bother shaving or waxing, we’re not fussed
A GYNECOLOGIST has revealed the three things that you should know, so you’ll want to take notes.
Posting on social media, Dr Sadaf (@drsadafobgyn), a certified gynecologist and intimacy coach explained the things you should be aware of if you have an appointment booked in.
Dr Sadaf made it clear what to expect for your appointment and revealed her advice for your preperation.
The healthcare professional shared her advice on TikTok, so it’s time to listen up.
As she posed in her white uniform, the OB-GYN doctor, who specialises in women’s health and the female body, explained: “The first thing is, if you’re older than 21, you’re going to get a pap smear, a pelvic exam and a breast exam.”
Secondly, Dr Sadaf spoke about periods and surprisingly, noted that if you are on period, it might be a good idea to reschedule your appointment.
She added: “Number two, if you have your period, definitely consider rescheduling your exam.
“It can make your pelvic exam more difficult and uncomfortable for you.”
Finally, the healthcare whizz explained that although you may want to, you don’t need to bother shaving or waxing your pubic hairs prior to your appointment.
She revealed that gynecologist’s couldn’t really care less whether you’re smooth or hairy down below, as she continued: “Don’t worry about shaving or waxing.
“Gynecologists are more concerned about your health and wellbeing, than what your vagina looks like.”
Dr Sadaf‘s clip has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly amassed 41.5k views.

However, social media users were left confused at Dr Sadaf’s advice to reschedule your appointment if it’s your time of the month.
One person said: “Number two is questionable.”
Whilst another added: “Number two? Uhm no.”
