Police: Two teens arrested for making false bomb threat against CT movie theater
Two teens were arrested on Wednesday on charges they called in a bomb threat to a movie theater at the Connecticut Post Mall in early March, police said.
On March 3, the Cinemark Movie Theater at the Connecticut Post Mall told police it reportedly received a telephone call around 1:30 p.m. from a person stating that they had a bomb outside the movie theater, according to the Milford Police Department.
The threat initiated a heavy police response, according to police. Officers cleared the parking lot and movie theater before determining that the call was a hoax, police said.
Through the investigation, police determined there were two suspects. Arrest warrants were issued for Christian Cuomo, 18, and Tyvon Torres, 19, both of Wallingford, for allegedly making the hoax phone call, according to police.
Both men turned themselves in to Milford police on Wednesday. Cuomo was charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit a breach of peace and first-degree conspiracy to falsely report an incident. Torres was charged with second-degree breach of peace, first-degree falsely reporting an incident, second-degree conspiracy to commit a breach of peace and first-degree conspiracy to falsely report an incident.
Both men were released with a promise to appear and are scheduled to report to the court in Milford in April, police said.
