A GRANDMOTHER has totally divided opinion after showing off the “ranking pyramid” she uses to grade her grandkids.
Joyce took to TikTok to share a video of her nana explaining why she’d chosen the positions she had for her young relatives.
“Ok – Jonathan’s at the top because he’s come to visit me four times this week,” she began.
“Alicia’s next in line because she took me to Chipotle to eat.”
That decision caused an argument with Alicia, who insisted her grandmother had “promised” she’d be at the top of the pyramid after their meal out.
The nan insisted though that she’s said she “thought” she would – not promised.
“Jonah is the next one down because he went to eat with me the other night and that’s the first time in a long time I’ve eaten with him,” she continued.
Getting to the bottom row, she said: “Amber’s there just because she’s so just because she’s so pretty.
“And then these three down here – I just can’t choose between them, so…”
“Nana’s grandchild ranking pyramid,” Joyce captioned her video, revealing that each child got a gift card but the ones at the top got to choose first.
“Nothing says family like emotional manipulation,” one person commented on the video.
As another added: “ahh so the grandkids know who gonna inherit the most.”
“It’s giving Abby Lee,” a third wrote.
But others defended her, with one writing: “I love this, she’s not picking favourites, she’s incentivising their love, it’s a smart business move, they all get memories AND gift cards.”
“I’m gonna do this when I have grandkids,” another added.
As someone else commented: “y’all, this is my nana. she literally changes the top of the pyramid every week.
“She’s not playing favourites it’s just a joke.”
To which Joyce replied: “The amount of people that can’t understand this is really sad.
“I’d hate to be so serious all the time and never have any fun.”
