I’m a DIY pro – I transformed my bathroom with floating ‘marble shelves’ for just $3.75 using Dollar Tree bargains
ALTHOUGH everyone wants to live in a beautiful space, renovating a home is often too time consuming and pricey to do.
One savings expert, however, said he came up with a creative, budget-friendly way to upgrade his bathroom.
Rob Rivera (@onthecheaptip), who calls himself a “DIY Daddy” and “Dollar Tree MacGyver,” has been featured in Architectural Digest thanks to his innovative design skills.
He often shares his interior hacks on TikTok, and recently revealed how he elevated his bathroom for less than $5.
In the video, he said he wanted to build floating corner shelves for extra storage.
“So, I went to the Dollar Tree and found these stackable letter filers, which when flipped over look just like marble slabs,” he began.
After mapping out their placement with a level and painters tape, he began screwing them into the wall.
“And bam: Instant floating shelves that look just like marble, without the marble price.”
After placing folded towels, a candle, and glass jars holding bathroom essentials onto the shelves, the bathroom looked straight out of a chic hotel.
The best part? The grand total only came out to $3.75.
“I love them!”
Viewers were in awe of his ingenuity and taste.
“I said it before and I will say it again: You are so creative,” one person commented.
“Great idea and they don’t absorb moisture,” wrote another, to which Rob replied saying they’re also easy to clean.
“Absolutely beautiful. Never would have known they weren’t installed by a pro. Wonderful job done, I love it,” a third praised.
