[Men's Basketball] UAV's Hayes Named Third Team All-American
The NAIA announced its three men's basketball All-America teams and honorable mentions on Tuesday, and Antelope Valley's Michael Hayes, the California Pacific Conference Player of the Year, was voted to the Third Team. The junior guard from Tracy, Calif., led the Pioneers to a record-setting 19-1 conference record (26-3 overall), their fifth regular season title, the top seed in the postseason tournament, and a fifth appearance in the NAIA National Championship. Hayes averaged 14.8 points per game, the fifth best in the conference, shooting 59.8 percent from the floor. He filled up stat sheets, averaging 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest.
