Busy mum shows off her go-to dinner that kids love and means there’s no washing up… but people compare it to prison food
A SAVVY mum has revealed her go-to family dinner that takes minutes to make and leaves behind minimal washing up – although people aren’t convinced.
Kristen took to TikTok to reveal her speedy ‘taco in a bag’ recipe and explained that it’s a regular hit with her three kids.
But her recipe sparked a huge debate online, with some even comparing it to prison food.
Known online as @southernescape, the content creator regularly shares family updates, as well as DIY and home hacks with her 1.4 million followers.
In a new reel, she said: “The quickest dinner you’ll ever make for your kids and they’ll LOVE IT.”
During the 21-second video, Kristen is seen cutting the side off a bag of Nacho Cheese-flavoured Doritos.
She then pours in beef mince and melted cheese, before topping it with more grated cheese.
The mum is then seen stirring the mixture before declaring it her ‘taco in a bag’.
She added: “Add all your favourite veggies, cheese, whatever you want.
“The absolute best part is no cleanup! Throw a fork in it and you’re good.
“Perfect for busy nights…and it’s so good!”
Her quick recipe attracted plenty of attention online, gaining more than 8,400 likes and 222,900 views.
In the comments, other parents shared their thoughts – although not all were impressed, with one even comparing it to ‘prison food’.
One wrote: “This is called prison food hacks.”
“They do this in prison…” joked another.
However, others raved about the recipe and shared their takes.
Someone put: “Walking tacos is what we call them.”
Another commented: “I grew up in south Texas and my school used to do this with Hot Cheetos.”
“I’ve seen people do the same for dessert! With vanilla wafer pack and pudding and banana,” suggested one.
Kristen replied: “I HAVE TO TRY THISSSSSS.”
