I’m a dog expert – 3 breeds I never recommend, including a favorite and a ‘monster’ that could ‘kill a pack of wolves’
A DOG expert has shared the top three breeds that he would not recommend for potential pet owners.
One of the animals is a regular fan favorite, while another is a supposed “monster” with the ability to “kill a pack of wolves.”
TikTok user American Standard K9 (@americanstandardk9) is the self-described “#1 Dog Trainer on the Interwebs!”
He provides dog and puppy training advice, as well as tips and tricks to properly take care of your pet.
In a TikTok video, he shared what he thinks are the top three dog breeds people shouldn’t own and because they aren’t the most home-friendly.
Though they’re big and cuddly, they may not be the best choice as “man’s best friend.”
The first breed he lists is the Tibetan Mastiff.
“A monster of a dog that is capable of killing an entire pack of wolves,” he said.
He also mentioned that even though they’re beautiful animals, they’re very stubborn and difficult to train, making them not the best pets for small children.
The second dog breed is a Great Dane, which are “really sweet dogs and make amazing pets” but are too big for most homes.
“The problem is it’s a complete lifestyle changer,” he explained. “You’d have to basically rearrange your whole house.”
Lastly, the content creator said that the Cane Corso is the number one dog breed he does not recommend for families because “it’s too much dog for about 99.9 percent of folks.”
“They are absolutely battle tanks, and you don’t need that in your suburban neighborhood,” he added.
There were mixed reviews about the dog expert’s statements and people made their opinions known in the comments.
“Well, now I know you obviously don’t know as much as you think. Cane Corso are one of the most loyal caring loving family dogs ever,” a viewer commented.
“I got a Great Dane mutt and he is the sweetest clumsiest doggo ever. He can wipe a table with his tail but he’s gotten pretty good at avoiding that,” another chimed in.
“Agree about the first two but surprised about the third,” a fan shared.
