Mattress Mack made a dramatic outfit change to announce next mega-wager after losing millions on Houston
Mattress Mack is always prepared for the future.
Wait let’s rephrase that: Mattress Mack is always prepared for his next future.
The Texas retail magnate was in Las Vegas on Friday night for an event at a Caesars Sportsbook at a Horseshoe Casino on the Strip when his $4.15 million wager on the Houston Cougars to win the men’s NCAA tournament busted in the Sweet 16. The bet would’ve paid out some $35 million — which he then would’ve used to pay out a promotion at his furniture stores.
He did not dwell on the moment for too long before going right back to the counter for his next million-dollar wager. Naturally, he’s eyeing the Houston Astros. But he didn’t place the bet before swapping out his Cougars gear for custom Astros threads.

Officially the bet goes down as $1.9 million on the Astros (+600) to win the 2023 World Series for a payout of $11.4 million. No MLB team has repeated as World Series champions since the New York Yankees won three straight from 1998-2000.
On the other hand, the last time Mack placed a championship future on the Astros he literally needed a wheelbarrow to collect his winnings and set a record for the largest payout in U.S. sports betting history
If we know anything about Mack (whose real name is Jim McIngvale), this won’t be the last World Series bet he makes on Houston this year.
