Report explains the warnings Conte was given before he accepted Spurs job
The Telegraph’s Matt Law has claimed that Antonio Conte had been warned about the challenges of working at Tottenham before he accepted the job 18 months ago.
The news that emerged late on Sunday of Tottenham and Conte parting ways did not catch anyone by surprise, with the writing seemingly being on the wall for the Italian over many weeks.
The 53-year-old’s time at the club began with a lot of promise, which got many Spurs fans dreaming that he could be the man to break the club’s recent trophy drought but that did not come to pass, with the project ending in quite familiar fashion.
Law has now revealed in his column in The Telegraph that Conte watched the ‘All of Nothing’ documentary series on Spurs during Jose Mourinho’s tenure to prepare for the job.
The journalist claims that there were several warnings for the Italian from what he saw in the series as well as from the advice he received from friends regarding the frustrations he might face at the North London club.
However, Law suggests that Conte believed that he could change the mentality of the club, which is why he decided to accept the job.

This narrative of pointing the finger the club’s mentality or the hierarchy and absolving Conte of any blame is a lazy one. Almost half the current squad consists of players who were signed since the Italian arrived at the club.
He has to take a good portion of the responsibility for the team’s struggles this season, with his tactics clearly being found out by opposition managers.
