Watches and Wonders 2023: Chopard Unveils Alpine Eagle 41 XPS

Chopard’s Alpine Eagle is one of the most coveted luxury sport watches of our time. It combines contemporary sporty-chic and pure design with sophisticated genuine L.U.C calibers from the Chopard Manufacture. After a flyback chronograph movement, a high-frequency caliber and a flying tourbillon, Chopard now adds an ultra-thin model with a case height of a mere 8mm to the collection, the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS.

Measuring just 3.3mm thick, the L.U.C 96.40-L caliber ticking inside bears a chronometer certificate for precision and the prestigious Poinçon de Genève, a very rare haute-horlogerie seal exclusive to high-end watches that were produced in the Geneva Canton. Thanks to its two stacked barrels based on Chopard’s Twin technology, the movement guarantees a 65-hour power reserve. Among its refined features are a swan’s neck adjustment and an off-center micro rotor crafted of 22-carat gold.

The case has a diameter of 41mm and is attached to an integrated bracelet. Both are entirely crafted Chopard’s own steel alloy, Lucent Steel A223. The dial introduces a new color into the collection, “Monte Rosa Pink,” which refers to the second highest mountain in the Alps. Its pinkish shimmer makes for a beautiful background for the subsidiary seconds which take center stage at 6 o’clock.
