Blast near Afghanistan Foreign Ministry Kills 2, Injures 12
A blast occurred near a checkpoint on the road leading to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in downtown Kabul on Monday afternoon, sources describing it as a heavy explosion.
According to the sources, the blast happened when the Ministry of foreign affairs employees left their offices, saying it was a suicide bombing.
Meanwhile, according to the Emergency NGO in Kabul, 12 wounded, including a child, were brought to the hospital after the blast near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Two other victims are already dead on arrival. Taliban authorities have not commented yet.
Several ambulances reached to the area to transfer the injured people to Wazir Akbar Khan hospital.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
A similar explosion occurred in January, which killed several employees of the Ministry and wounded several others.
Recently, the Taliban security forces have increased their operations against Daesh or IS-K militants nationwide, killing several top leaders and arresting several others.
A recent raid by the Taliban in Mazar-e-Sharif killed three top leaders of the Islamic State, including Ziauddin, the acting governor of Islamic State-Khorasan, including two others.
