A VET has named the five dog breeds which will cost a fortune in bills – and the most expensive is a family favourite.
Dr Adam Christman took to his TikTok page to reveal the surprising list to his huge army of 949,000 followers.
The vet and social media star began by saying his list was based on three factors – insurance claims, veterinary visits and food.
Coming in at the fifth most expensive pooch, according to Dr Christman, was the Golden Retriever.
He said they can get a number of involved problems.
At number four was the French bulldog while in third place was the Cane Corso, which he described as a “beautiful dog”.
In the second spot was the Rottweiler.
Taking the top spot in the list though was the English bulldog.
He then went on to list some of the problems the English bulldog can suffer from: dermatology, respiratory and cardiology.
The pet expert then warned owners they need to get pet insurance for their “furbaby”.
The brief clip has been viewed more than 20,000 times, gained 1,325 likes and dozens of comments.
Many commentators went online to talk about their own experiences with their lovable pooch.
One wrote: “Had a Golden and he was a lot of $$$ loved him to bits but had skin issues because he was allergic to grass.”
Another said: “My Shish-Tzu is the most expensive breed. We can’t get insurance to cover anything!”
A third person added: “Guilty. French bulldog. My furkid is blind but still 100 per cent a sweetie pie.”
Elsewhere, a dog trainer revealed the three breeds that are most likely to rip through an apartment.
The TikToker known as American Standard K9 (@americanstandardk9) discouraged future pet owners that live in tiny homes from getting specific breeds.
He posted a video to explain the “top three” dogs they should refrain from adopting or fostering.
Another dog trainer named the six breeds she would never own due to her professional experiences with the animals.
A dog owner has also shown off her huge 7ft pooch which has been dubbed ‘Dogzilla’ by its fans.
The enormous creature is an Alabai, which is a type of sheepdog from Central Asia, and its size has been compared to a that of a tiger – but it’s actually a big softy.
