Ivanka Trump has given up trying to advise her father and is keeping her distance as his possible indictment looms, report says

Ivanka Trump is tired of advising her father because she knows "how impossible he can be," a source told People magazine in a report published on Wednesday.

The eldest daughter of former President Donald Trump is "through with politics" and wants to focus on spending time with her family in Miami, Florida, multiple sources told the outlet.

"Even though Ivanka loves her dad, she knows how impossible he can be," an unnamed source told People magazine.

Another unnamed source told People magazine that even though Ivanka is continuing to keep her distance, there is no personal beef between father and daughter.

"Donald does what he wants, and she can't help him now. His help is in the hands of his lawyers and advisers," the source said. "She is no longer working in that capacity."

The report comes as Trump finds himself at the center of a hush-money-payments investigation involving adult film star Stormy Daniels that may soon lead to his indictment in New York.

Trump, who has officially launched his 2024 presidential bid, is facing more than a dozen other legal cases, Insider's Laura Italiano and Jacob Shamsian reported.

Ivanka was notably absent from her father's presidential campaign launch in Florida last November. In a statement published around the same time, she said that she loves her father "very much," but does not plan on staying in the political arena.

"This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics," the statement said.

A source, who runs in the same social circles as Ivanka, told People magazine that she misses her friends and wants "a new life to compensate for what she lost when she spent four years in her father's Washington." 

"She has started over and pursues interests in business, design, and being involved in the lives of her children," they added.

The comments echo a report published by The New York Post in November, which claimed that Ivanka was unhappy about how her friends "turned their backs" on her during her father's administration. The report also cited multiple unnamed sources.

Despite their limited political experience, Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner both served as unpaid senior advisors to Trump during his administration and held a significant amount of influence over his policies.

Last month, they were both subpoenaed by a special counsel investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol, The New York Times reported.

Ivanka Trump did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
