The Northern Lights are the result of electrically charged particles from the sun smashing into gaseous particles in our planet’s atmosphere and creating gorgeous views.
The most common colour of the lights is green, which is created when oxygen molecules react with the particles – this process happens about 60 miles above the ground.
Iceland is also famous for its hiking trails, skiing and snowboarding seasons, and even whale watching, so you will always find something to do.
