Dragons’ Den fans break down in tears as ’emotional’ investors all join forces for heartbreaking reason

DRAGONS’ Den fans have been left in tears after all five investors opted to join forces for a lady’s teddy bear business.

Joanna Proud had approached the Dragons – Peter Jones, Steven Bartlett, Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies and Touker Suleyman – for a £20,000 investment.

She showed them her a range of Mood Bears, which help bring a smile to the faces of both adults and children battling with their emotions.

In the series finale, Jo told the Dragons that she came up with the idea in 2019 while struggling with her own mental health at 2am.

She explained: “At 2am, I drew Happy Bear and decided to have it made.

“When it came, my husband said, ‘My goodness, that’s the first time I’ve seen you smile in such a long time’. I thought, ‘Wow, that could help so many other people’.”

Jo’s Mood Bears come in a range of eight different colours and each represent a different emotion; Happy Bear, Sad Bear, Silly Bear, Calm Bear, Nervous Bear, Angry Bear, Love Bear and Hope Bear.

All the Dragons reacted positively to Jo’s Mood Bears, with Peter seeming particularly taken by them and Jo’s backstory.

Clutching onto his very own Silly Bear, he told her: “I actually really like what you’re doing. I think the message and what you’re trying to achieve in this day and age is really left field.

“We don’t get these opportunities in the Den very often.

“I’m going to throw it out there – I think this could be something very, very special and I think potentially you could have a bit of a movement here if all five Dragons came together and joined forces.

“I love the messaging here and I think the power of the people and the power of the Dragon, this could be something that has real consequential and positive impact.”

Peter then took the very rare step of proposing that all five Dragons each invest £4,000 in the business for five per cent each – and they were all delighted to agree.

Dragons’ Den fans watching at home couldn’t hold back their emotions as Jo walked away, clutching her Happy Bear tightly.

Struggling to hold back tears, told her ted: “Oh, Happy, we’ve done it. We’re going to make people smile, Happy.”

Taking to Twitter, one viewer admitted: “Wow. I’m in tears All 5 dragons. What a way to end the season.”

Another added: “Bloody hell #dragonsden just reduced me to tears #bears.”

And a third tweeted: “I’m not crying – and neither are you…”
