Strictly and Dancing on Ice legend’s return date to TV revealed – and it’s just days away
OTI Mabuse has confirmed when she will be returning to TV.
The former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer and the Dancing On Ice judge will be taking to the airwaves with a brand new show.
Oti, 32, will take to the airwaves on ITV1 in a brand new breakfast show.
The broadcaster has confirmed the launch date for two new morning shows fronted by Oti as well as a member of the Love Island family.
Oti Mabuse’s Breakfast Show kicks off at 8:30am on Saturday 15 April.
Laura Whitmore,37, will take on the same time slot on Sunday mornings, beginning the following day.
Loose Women star Katie Piper secured a second series of her own Breakfast Show, which will also air the same weekend.
The chat shows will be a blend of lifestyle and entertainment to wake ITV viewers up in the morning.
Head of Entertainment Commissioning for ITV1 and ITVX, Katie Rawcliffe said of the new shows: “In Katie, Oti and Laura we have three dynamic, engaging broadcasters who bring energy and flair to our weekend schedules. Each of their shows will give viewers that perfect weekend wake up call.”
This comes after the TV personality and her sister Motsi, 41, broke down in floods of tears as they went on a DNA Journey in South Africa where they discovered a family secret.
The champion dancers, who shot to fame on Strictly, return to their homeland and are told they are related to royalty and that their grandfather was a war hero.
In a clip from DNA Journey Oti says: “It’s a beautiful thing, we are so grateful. These aren’t tears of sadness, these are tears of, ‘Oh my god’.”
Motsi adds: “We’re so proud.”
Records for black South Africans are almost non-existent in a post-apartheid South Africa, however through testing their DNA the sisters were able to reconnect with cousins they had never met.
