Large fire destroys Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Preston
A large fire has engulfed a Jaguar Land Rover dealership- nearly destroying the entire building.
Firefighters have been tackling the blaze at the Inchape Jaguar Land Rover dealership at Bluebell Way, Preston, since 1.00am.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but it has destroyed a substantial part of the building, which is roughly 100m by 100m.
Ten fire engines and a number of support vehicles were needed to help tackle the blaze in the early hours of this morning.
This has since been reduced to four.
Steve Healey, deputy chief fire officer at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, wrote on Twitter: ‘Our crews have done an incredible job in preventing serious fire spread.’
Residents have been advised to keep their windows closed.
Inchcape said: ‘ We would like to thank the emergency services and the various support agencies for their hard work and dedication in helping contain the damage.
‘It is obviously far too early to speculate on exactly what happened, however we are working in conjunction with various experts to determine the cause.’
