A DIY pro has revealed how she completely transformed her boring garden into something completely different – but not all are impressed, with some suggesting she has ‘zero taste’.
Samantha Jane Vaugha shared how she replaced her patchy lawn with a chic, two-tier patio to create a modern outdoor haven.
But not all were convinced, with one TikTokker even calling the end result ‘awful’.
Known online as @samantha14687, the savvy mum regularly shares life updates with her 3,400 followers.
In a new reel, she offered a step-by-step guide on how she transformed her garden, writing: “Garden renovation!”
During the one-and-a-half-minute video, the savvy mum shared a glimpse at her lawn before.
Her grass was patchy in places and surrounded by a discoloured wooden fence.
To start the overhaul, Samantha first gave the wooden panels a fresh lick of paint in a bright white colour.
Next, she got in some contractors to relevel her outdoor space and dig a ventilation system that would sit under the new patio.
After this, rectangular concrete patio slabs were laid across three-quarters of the square garden, divided by two steps, creating two separate areas.
Samatha then added a modern set of rattan garden furniture in two different spots to create various seating areas.
Finally, the contractors added new turf to the final third and filled the sleeper boxes around the edge with concrete stones and a range of green plants and small trees.
Fans loved her garden makeover, with the video gaining more than 164,900 likes and 4.1 million views.
In the comments, TikTok users shared their reactions – although not all were fans of her design choices.
One wrote: “Zero taste.”
“Awful,” commented another.
A third shared: “I don’t like it… but I don’t own it either.”
Although others had high praise for the transformation, with another adding: “I honestly love this, it makes it look so much more spacious than before.”
