Do we need more innovation in the EFL to keep interest up against the all consuming Premier League? I know I'm a minority voice on here for rugby league, and RL is in a more existential situation than football, but I'm curious if others on here think some of the forward thinking in RL might translate the EFL. This week has been Easter "rivals" in RL with back-to-back local derbies scheduled across the Super League and all shown live on Sky. The necessary odd one out was Catalans (only French team in SL this year), but scheduling worked out well as their game with Warrington was 1st v 2nd and a terrific game (I would say that as a Wire fan given that we won...). Anyway, all the games have been great, attendances really good, interest high - could this sort of thing work work in the EFL?
