India plans to generate 9% of its electricity from nuclear sources by 2047, according to Union Minister Jitendra Singh. The move will help it achieve its net-zero target by 2070. Singh said the Department of Atomic Energy is expected to achieve 20 GW capacity of nuclear power generation by 2030, making India the world's third-largest producer of atomic energy, behind the US and France.
