Conor McGregor hints at next opponent after Michael Chandler fight with cryptic tweet following UFC 287
CONOR McGREGOR hinted at a potential future opponent after watching Israel Adesanya reclaim his UFC middleweight title against Alex Pereira last night.
The Last Stylebender defeated Pereira via second round KO in a thrilling climax to UFC 287.
Adesanya’s victory came at the fourth attempt, having twice lost to the Brazilian in kickboxing, before being defeated in their previous MMA meeting five months ago.
McGregor, 34, is due to fight Michael Chandler later this year, after coaching against the American in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter.
But after Adesanya’s win, he appeared to tease a potential rematch with Dustin Poirier.
The Notorious tweeted: “Quadrilogy’s are fun.”
Poirier, 34, is the only opponent McGregor has already fought three times.
The Diamond boasts a 2-1 winning record in those fights, although their most recent ended in McGregor breaking his tibia after his leg unfortunately gave way on the canvas .
UFC 264 in July 2021, when the incident took place, is the last time fans saw McGregor take to the octagon.
The Irishman won his first battle with Poirier, beating him via first round TKO all the way back in 2014.

Poirier then avenged that loss on Fight Island in January 2021, before winning again at UFC 264.
For McGregor’s return against Chandler, the promotion are considering their options.
UFC president Dana White said: “You can do the Cowboys’ stadium, Madison Square Garden, obviously Vegas. We’re looking at all the different options.”
The Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium possesses a staggering capacity of 100,000.
A date for McGregor’s comeback fight has not been finalised as he’s yet to re-enter the USADA drug-testing pool.
UFC and USADA policy requires a fighter to be in the pool for a minimum of six months before they’re eligible to compete.
The promotion, however, can waive the requirement and have a combatant make a faster return provided they return two negative tests.
