Lieutenant Colonel Suman Kumari, daughter of Naik Om Prakash Dhul, who was martyred during Operation Pawan in Sri Lanka about 36 years ago, is set to become the first woman from Haryana and the first student of Navodaya Schools across India to be promoted to the rank of colonel. Suman was commissioned in the Army nearly 20 years ago.
