Los Gatos’ Spring Into Green event helps ‘Keep Los Gatos Beautiful’

Looking for an excuse to slow down and marvel at the natural beauty in Los Gatos? This month, which marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, is also Keep Los Gatos Beautiful Month. Residents can celebrate both occasions with Spring into Green on April 23 at Town Plaza Park. The festivities will last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can attend the mayor’s tree-planting ceremony, browse exhibitor booths, listen to live music and sample fresh wares from the Los Gatos Farmers’ Market.

There will be a free bike valet located on Main Street for those who want to ditch the car for the day.

National Library Week

National Library Week kicks off April 23, and the Los Gatos Library is hosting a creative—and eco-friendly—event to celebrate. Tuesday, April 25 at 4:30 p.m., library staff will host a craft workshop where participants will make wreaths out of recycled book pages. Participants do not need to bring any materials. Spring Wine Walk

The perfect pairing for a chilled rose: an idyllic walk through the heart of Los Gatos. The Los Gatos Spring Wine Walk will take place Saturday, April 22, 1-4 p.m. During the event, select downtown Los Gatos businesses will host local wineries, so participants can sample wine and shop at the same time. Highway 17 closures

Crews continue to battle the effects of this spring’s severe weather. Today marks the final day of Highway 17 lane closures between the Blossom Hill Road overcrossing and Summit Road. Crews have been working since March 30 to remove tree debris from this stretch of road.
