What ‘apoplectic’ Andy Robertson said about linesman after he was ‘elbowed’ in throat during Liverpool vs Arsenal clash
ANDY ROBERTSON was reportedly left “apoplectic” and “stunned” after appearing to be elbowed by assistant referee Constantine Hatzidakis.
That is according to Sky Sports’ touchline reporter Geoff Shreeves, who was on the ground at Anfield for Sunday’s incredible 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Arsenal.
In astonishing scenes, Hatzidakis appeared to elbow Liverpool left-back Robertson after referee Paul Tierney blew for half-time.
Sky showed footage of the incident, before hearing Shreeves’ view.
He reported: “Andy Robertson was absolutely apoplectic, stunned even.
“He said ‘the linesman has just elbowed me in the throat’ – Jordan Henderson was well aware of it and led the remonstrations with referee Paul Tierney and after that they got taken away.
“Extraordinary scenes.”
Robertson was even booked by Tierney for his protests.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claimed after the game that he did not see what happened.
When asked for his thoughts on the incident involving Robertson and assistant referee Hatzidakis, Klopp told Sky: “Nothing. I know it happened but I didn’t watch it.

“If it happened the pictures will speak for themselves.”
Meanwhile, Sky pundit Roy Keane did not have any sympathy for Robertson, blasting the Liverpool ace as a “big baby”.
He blasted: “He [Robertson] should be more worried about his defending.
“Do you know what he is that Robertson, I’ve watched him a number of times.
“He he is a big baby! That’s what that guy is. Just get on with the game and concentrate on your defending.”
On the pitch, Arsenal went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.
Mohamed Salah pulled one back just before half-time, before Roberto Firmino headed in an 87th minute equaliser.
Salah also missed a penalty for the Reds with the score at 2-1.
